Olivia Wideman – Architectural Designer:
How long you have been with Paradigm?
I have been with Paradigm since June 2022.
What was one of your favorite projects, and what made it unique?
One project I really love working on is Stonebriar. The size of the house and the complexity of the design has given us as a team a lot of opportunities to create fun and unique spaces specific to the client.
How can customers prepare before entering the design phase of their Custom Home journey?
To prepare, I would say to find inspiration images of what you look for in aesthetics and function. I also believe It is important to trust the process of design and be open to new ideas.
Are there specific questions new clients should be thinking about before meeting with you?

Matt Monaghan – Design Manager
How long you have been with Paradigm?
I have been with Paradigm for 2.5 years.
What was one of your favorite projects, and what made it unique?
My favorite project is a Custom Home on Highland Lane in Fairfax.
The property has a unique topography that we were able to use to the client’s advantage. The style of the home is a mix of contemporary and modern prairie, which we are calling “New Traditional Prairie.”
How can customers prepare before entering the design phase of their Custom Home journey?
The best way to prepare for the design phase of the journey is to be open-minded. Our design team members are experts in their field and can deliver a home that is tailored to you. You just need to trust the process!
Are there specific questions they should be thinking about before meeting with you?
How does my family live? When thinking about functionality we want to be thoughtful in our design and design the house for YOU.
What are some design trends you are looking forward to in 2023?
The return of Art Deco! I can’t choose just one, so the return of multifunctional homes is #2. Having spaces that are dual-purpose and can serve homeowners in multiple ways.
Frankie Martellotti – Selections Manager:
How long you have been with Paradigm?
I’ve been with Paradigm for 3.5 years.
What was one of your favorite projects, and what made it unique?
The Nowak Project. It was a different architectural style that I have never been a part of before (French Contemporary).
How can customers prepare before entering the design phase of their Custom Home journey?
If possible have an idea of what you want your house to look like, whether it is a colonial, craftsman, or modern style. It always helps to look around different neighborhoods and online to start finding what you like the best. Also going into the process knowing what parts/functions of the home are most important to you will help tremendously.
Are there specific questions they should be thinking about before meeting with you?
None specifically, but I would utilize the expertise of the design team and architect to your advantage. They are experts in what they do and can provide different perspectives on things that you might not have thought of.
What are some design trends you are looking forward to in 2023?
It is always interesting to see the transition of popular color schemes homeowners want to use on the exterior of the home. Besides that, it is always fascinating to see what styles become popular and watching multiple styles combine and work well together. For example, we are going to begin construction on a house in the new year that can only be described as a “Medieval Modern” house!
We are truly excited about what 2022 had to offer, and we are equally excited as we look forward to 2023! Thank you to our design team for sharing their time and expertise with us!
