JELD-WEN took the time to delve into what drives and inspires Tim and even included a few photos of their favorite projects! Here are a few of our favorite questions along with Tim’s answers:
“What inspired you to pursue a career in building? How did you get to where you are today?”
“I have been around some aspect of construction since I was young. I used to help my dad fix and flip old homes and even did a few of my own in college. I love to see a project come to life — it starts with a home in bad shape, and with a little care and attention to detail, it can be transformed into something amazing. I wouldn’t be here today without being able to flex with market demands and having several key mentors who help influence my leadership and expertise in the industry.”
“What are some sources of inspiration for you? Who are some of your biggest influences?”
“Travel is my largest source of influence — exploring the world and experiencing many different cultures, environments, food, architecture, and even building materials helps to stir ideas. We love using some of what we have seen in our travels to implement in client projects.
I also spend a lot of time reading, specifically about cultural icons and leaders who went before us, making big waves in their industry. Some of my influences are John Maxwell, Richard Branson, Mark Batterson, and Abraham Lincoln.”
“Do you have a favorite project featuring JELD-WEN?”
“We have a hybrid project that is a combination of our product offerings — a custom home and Pop Top Addition, where we build on the existing foundation and add a new first and second floor. It features JELD-WEN vinyl double-hung and casement windows.”
“Talk to us about work-life balance: How important is it, and how do you achieve it?”
“Work-life balance is very important, especially in this industry. It can be easy for construction to become consuming, so setting healthy boundaries is important. Each day before I start work, I read my Bible, then head to the gym. When I need a break, I love to play golf. When it is time to get away, I love to travel the world with my wife.”
